Replacing a system is the biggest HVAC decision a homeowner makes, so we don't charge to price it. We measure the house, run the load, look at the duct and electrical, and leave you with several options in writing — and no obligation to use any of them.

01 · Walk the House
Square footage, ceiling heights, window exposure, insulation, how many people live there. The things that decide what size system the house needs.
02 · Run the Load
A Manual-J style load calculation on your house — not the tonnage stamped on the unit that's failing. Equipment sized off the old nameplate is how a house ends up oversized and humid.
03 · Inspect the Ductwork
Static pressure, return sizing, leakage, the attic runs. New equipment on undersized duct underperforms its rating, so we price the duct work honestly or tell you it's fine.
04 · Check Electrical & Drain
Breaker and disconnect sizing, whip condition, condensate routing and the secondary pan. Anything that has to change to pass inspection goes in the quote, not on a change order.
05 · Price the Options
Several equipment options at different efficiency tiers, each with its own installed price, warranty terms and rebate eligibility. In writing, before we leave or by email the same day.
Three quotes are only comparable if they say the same things.

An estimate is not a verdict. Plenty of the systems we price turn out to be worth repairing, and we say so — here is roughly how that call goes.
Worth replacing when…
- The system is 12–15 years old and the repair is a four-figure one
- It runs on R-22, so a leak means a system decision anyway
- The compressor or coil has failed out of warranty
- You've paid for two or more repairs in the same season
- Rooms have never been comfortable, which is usually sizing or duct
Worth repairing when…
- The system is under ten years old and the fault is a component
- It's a capacitor, contactor, board or motor — parts, not the heart of it
- The coil and compressor are healthy and the charge holds
- There's warranty left on the major components
It costs nothing to know the real number.
